Delaware Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center
Peter V Rocca MD FACP FACR

Our Practice

Dr. Peter Rocca has been involved in the care of patients since 1986  In 1993, he opened his practice in Delaware and relocated his office to its current location in 2004 when he started the Delaware Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center. The practice ultilizes an electronic medical record which allows for speedy and error-free communication with other physicians and pharmacies. Dr. Rocca is in solo practice and believes that in this way every patient in the practice receives his personal attention.  He understands the need for consistent care. The practice treats each patient like family. Our compassionate, professional staff is dedicated to providing the highest level of care possible. Because we are physician owned, we are patient driven. This means that we can focus more on providing excellent care, and less on the bottom line. We are not tied to any large medical corporation. We provide effective care that is responsive to the needs of the community of Delaware and its surroundings.

Our waiting room was designed with the intention of being as comfortable as your living room. No annoying music or television will disturb you here.

Our practice offers patients the most up to date treatments for the different types of arthritis and osteoporosis. Treatments are always expertly administered and monitored by a registered nurse with many years of clinical experience. We will never cut costs and risk sacrificing care by substituting a medical assistant for a registered nurse.

Our infusion suite is clean, sunny and comfortable. Patients receive state-of-the art medication in a relaxing and familiar setting. Cable TV and radio are available for you to enjoy, should you so desire.

Our practice has three components; rheumatology, infusion services, and clinical trials . Dr. Rocca is a board-certified rheumatologist. Rheumatology is the medical field of study that deals with disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Examples of such disorders include:

Rheumatoid arthritis
Psoriatic arthritis
Raynaud's phenomenon
Polymyalgia rheumatica
Giant cell arteritis (also called temporal arteritis)
Systemic lupus erythematosus
Ankylosing spondylitis
Dermatomyositis and polymyositis
Wegener's granulomatosis
Churg Strauss syndrome
Relapsing polychondritis

....and many more.

In addition, to the evaluation and management of the rheumatic diseases, our practice provides an infusion service to patients. Patients do not need to be patients of Dr. Rocca in order to receive an infusion of a medication at our practice, but an order from another physician is required. Medications that we currently administer include:

Remicade (infliximab)
Orencia (abatacept)
Rituxan (rituximab)
Actemra (tocilizumab)
Reclast (zoledronic acid)
Tysabri (natalizumb)

Due to the diversity of conditions that we evaluate and the quality of care that we deliver, we are frequently asked to participate in clinical trials. Such trials are medical research and offer patients the opportunity to participate in the ground-breaking work of finding newer and better treatments for arthritis and other diseases. In recent years we have participated in clinical trials involving:

Rheumatoid arthritis

In the course of conducting clinical trials we have had the good fortune of working in collaboration with the following  pharmaceutical companies:

We guarantee all medical records are kept completely confidential
